In the Qur'an, Allah praises the Ummah: Ayat 110 of 3rd Surah - Ummah, proclaim what's right and condemn the wrong, and trust in Allah. Characteristics of an Ummah who is upright. Greatest Ummah.
Fitnah of Yazid and Bani Umayyah wanted to change the Khilafah system and make it into a dictatorship system and enslaving people. The complete opposite of what was taught by Nabi s.a.w.
Year 61H, 50 years after Nabi went on to Barzakh. Many companions, wives of Nabi still alive, Umm Salamah still alive.
From following the Prophet to following a drunkard. Yazid - ahli khamr, zina, does not do prayer, an oppressor.
A great insult to Ummah, Sahabahs follow him. Yazid was appointed by his father, Sayyidina Muawiyah. Soldiers of Bani Umayyah went to the mosques and asked people to pledge allegiance to Yazid.
Imam Husayn witnessed the corruption, he saw fear and hopelessness in people.
Hadith: by Imam Hakim; “If my ummah becomes scared of a zholim, O Zholim… O Oppressor… then Allah will abandon them.”
Imam Husayn was the voice of conscience and Truth, and said “O Zholim…”
If you see something wrong, change it with your hands, mouth and if not, the heart which is the weakest.
Imam Husayn displayed the highest level of Iman. S Ibn Abbas and another Sahabi met the Imam at the Ka'bah.
Imam Husayn hijrah to Makkah. On the night of Yazid's bay'ah, he fled to Makkah.
Imam Husayn said to Ibn Abbas, “I am too shy to meet Allah…”
Husayn is from me (my grandson), I am from Husayn (one day, my Ummah will be saved with Husayn). This hadith was said by Nabi when Imam Husayn was 2 3yo
I = The Deen, My Ummah, symbolism of Islam and Iman)
Umm Salamah saw Nabi crying while with Imam Husayn. (Usually, Nabi will be very happy.) Nabi was in Umm Salamah's room.
Jibril came and looked to the Prophet with sadness, “O Rasul, do you love that boy? One day, your Ummah will kill him… Nabi weeped. It will happen in ‘Ashura.”
Where will it happen?
Jibril took out some sand from a bottle and said at Karbala.
Karb - Pain, Bala - Tribulations.
When Imam Husayn is killed, the sand will turn red.
Why did it happen in Umm Salamah's room? Because she was alive at that time, she was 80+ yo. She was screaming and crying, people ran towards the Mosque (22 mins)
The sand was in her wardrobe for years, she will open it daily.
On that day, she opened and that bottle turned red
No form of communication.
Cosmic Event: The skies of Karbala were red. Stones of Jerusalem had blood underneath, Jinns wailing. An event close to the Prophet's time and the one killed also.
Umm Salamah in Madinah. S Ibn Abbas in Makkah, cried and did similar as Umm Salamah.
Imam Tirmidhi: S Ibn Abbas had a dream of Nabi with Nabi's beard dishevelled and clothes were dusty…Nabi said that he witnessed the murder of Imam Husayn and his family.
S.Hamza was Sayyidus Shuhada' in Judgment.
Imam Husayn - stood against an oppressive ruler. “I did not go out to seek pride but to fix the affairs of my Ummah.” An honorable death.
Imam Husayn went to Iraq, when he was in Madinah, he received many letters from Kufa. Imam made istikharah and isti-sharah. 20,000 people willing to stand with Imam.
Yazid's cousin was Ubaidillah ibn Ziyad, ordered to go to Kufa - wore the Hijazi clothes and covered his face when arriving in Kufa, people thought it was Imam Husayn and gave salams. (30 mins)
In the Palace, Ibn Ziyad cut off the people (those who supported Imam Husayn) who met him.
A man from Kufa told Imam Husayn who was making his way to Kufa. “The hearts are with you. Their swords are with Yazid.”
Imam Husayn with 73 men surrounded by 4,000 army men of Yazid on 1st Muharram.
Camped near the river of Karbala, on 1st Muharram.
Imam Husayn brought his family along.
The Imam did not choose Makkah out of respect for Allah's city.
In the beginning, it was 1000 by 1000 until last 1,000 from Kufa = 4,000.
The people who wrote to Imam Husayn, joined in Yazid's army eventually.
7th -10th Muharram, the Yazidi Army stopped water to Imam Husayn and his company.
9th Muharram, Imam gathered his soldiers and gave them consent to leave as Yazid is only after Imam Husayn.
10th, Amr ibn Saad said to Imam Husayn to pledge allegiance and surrender to Yazid and go to Damascus.
(40 mins) A man called Shimr - related to wife of S.Ali
Abbas Alam Bardar ibn Sayyidina Ali. Carrier of the Flag.
Sayyidina Ali married other women after S. Fathimah.
3 sons, Usman, Ali, Abu Bakr ibn S.Ali.
Some of Yazid’s army fled after hearing Imam Husayn's sermon.
Hurr ran to Imam Husayn, paused his horse and put back his sword and gave salam to Imam. Wanted to defend Imam Husayn.
Soldiers of Yazid hurled “Coward… Coward!”
A battle of Jannah vs Jahannam.
Hurr was the first to be martyred, 73 people murdered before Imam's eyes.
Ali al Akbar, Abbas, Ja'far ibn Abi Tholib…
Rules of fighting: Water of River is accessible to both parties but on that day, it was blocked from Imam Husayn when he wanted to take water for the baby.
A baby was shot by an arrow at the embrace of Imam Husayn.
(47 mins) Sukayna and Fathimah to be taken care by S.Zaynab
Imam Husayn dreamt about his Family when he had a short nap.
Imam Husayn was in his 50s.
His horse was shot.
Imam Husayn still did his prayer.
Shamr ibn Jawshan, Amr ibn Sa'd…“whoever take his head, will get a prize”
Sinan shot an arrow…
(51 mins)
Imam Husayn fell. Some of Yazid's army ran away.
Hawli cut the head of Imam Husayn and proclaimed Takbir. “I killed him…I got his head.”
The sword of Dhulfiqar went missing on the night of Karbala.
S.Zaynab shouted at Amr ibn Sa'd, “are you not ashamed?”
Ladies from Imam Husayn saw the noble Head.
Yazid was poking a stick at the cheeks of Imam Husayn.
Yazid said to Imam Ali Zaynal Abidin…
Imam Ali Zaynal Abidin replied to Yazid… the Fire is waiting for all of you.
S.Zaynab spoke truth in the face of Yazid and he was ashamed.

BUGYATU-L MUSTAFĪD LI-SHAR'HI MUNYATU-L MURĪD (AN ASPIRATION REALISED IN THE EXPLANATION OF THE "AIM OF THE DISCIPLE")
By: Shaykh Muhammad bin al-Arabī al-Sa'ih
Translated by: Imām Talut Sulaiman Dawood
Pages: 408
CONTENT OF THE BOOK (BUGHYAH AL-MUSTAFID LI SHARH MUNYAH AL-MURID)
👇👇👇
Bughyat al-Mustafid is one of the most important works on the history and rulings of the Tijani Tariqah. Written by Sidi al-Arabi ibn Sa'ih, nicknamed the "Bukhari of the Path", it summarizes the biographical accounts from Jawahir al-Ma'ānī and codifies the rulings of the path that had been scattered in different locations. The author's critical placement in the history of the path, having met many of the Companions of the Shaykh himself, as well as many of the imminent muqaddams, made him an indispensable source of clarity on many of the issues a Tijani disciple will face while walking the path.
The book also serves as a bridge to longer or more complicated works. It has been said, "If you want to read Jawahir al-Ma'ani, read Bughyat al-Mustafid first." This is because he clarifies some of the issues in Jawahir al-Ma'ani that may lead to a disciple having doubts or some misunderstandings.
