QUESTION:
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatuLlah ahbaab.
What stance should a murid take if there's a rift between his muqaddam and the muqaddam's muqaddam? What would be the appropriate path for the murid?
RESPONSE:
Ideally, the murid should not get involved in such a rift, as it doesn't concern him.
However, he should also side with the Truth, if it's clear who's right and who's wrong. One cannot knowingly support Falsehood.
If confused, the murid can move on to a different Muqaddam altogether. This is allowed in our Tariqah.
Every Tijani murid must know that they are not restricted to a particular Muqaddam forever.
And that the actual Shaykh of the murid is Sayyiduna Muhammad Rasul-Allah ﷺ and his Door Sayyiduna Shaykh Ahmad al-Tijani (RA).
The goal of the entire Path is to become directly connected to them and be their disciple.
