Introduction
The poem "Al-Jawhar al-Fard fii Mad'hi Qutb al-Fard" (The Unique Jewel in Praise of the Matchless Pole) is a profound spiritual masterpiece that bridges the hearts of seekers with the divine presence through the intercession of the righteous. Composed by Shaykh Abdul-Razaaq ibn Shaykh Ahmad Malamii Al-Kusawiyyu and enriched with a chorus by the renowned Shaykh Ahmad Sukayrij (which he gave to Shaykh Ibrahim Niasse for opening his Tafsir sessions), this work is more than just a poem—it is a fervent "Prayer for Seeking Himma" (Spiritual Energy and Focus).
Dedicated to the great Shaykh Al-Hajj Ibrahim Niasse, the verses take the reader on a journey of Tawassul, calling upon the spiritual stations of the Awliyya’u-llah (Friends of God). From the Seal of Saints to the prominent Poles of the Tijaniyya order, the poet weaves a tapestry of devotion, pleading for relief from the trials of the era, the bestowment of sacred knowledge, and the downpour of divine mercy.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ # وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ الكَرِيمِ
Bismillāh ar-Raḥmāni ar-Raḥīm # Wa ṣallā-llāhu ‘alā an-Nabiyy al-Karīm
In the name of God, the Most-Compassionate, the Most-Merciful # May God's blessing be upon the Noble Prophet (SAW)
The Poem
يَا هِمَّةَ الشَّيْخِ احْضُرِي *** لَنَا بِهَذَا المَحْضَرِ
Yā Himmat ash-Shaykh iḥḍurī *** lanā bi hādhā al-Maḥḍari
"Oh! The Magnanimity (Spiritual Strength) of the Shaykh, Abide *** with us in this gathering"
وَلِتَحْتَفِي بِنَظْرَةٍ *** تَأْتِي لَنَا بِالظَّفَرِ
Wa li-taḥtafī bi-naẓratin *** ta’tī lanā bi-ẓ ẓafari
"And bestow upon us in gazing *** what brings upon us real ease"

وَلْتَكْشِفِي مَا هَمَّنَا *** مِنْ مَرَضٍ وَالفَقْرِ
Wal-takshifī mā hammanā *** min maraḍin wa-l faqri
"And remove from us all what ails us *** in ailments and poverty"
وَلْتَرْحَمِي وَلْتَرْفَعِي *** مِنْ مُدْهِشَاتِ الدَّهْرِ
Wal-tarḥamī wal-tarfa‘ī *** min mud'hishāti-d dahri
"And bless me and exalt me *** from the vicissitudes of our times"
وَلْتُكْرُمِي بِعَطْفَةٍ *** وَلْتَسْبُلِي بِالسِّتْرِ
Wal-tukrumī bi-‘aṭfatin *** wal-tasbulī bi-s sitri
"Honour me with greatness *** and cloak me with respite"
وَلْتَرْفَعَنْ عَنْ كُلِّنَا *** كُلَّ شُرُورِ العَصْرِ
Wal-tarfa‘an ‘an kullinā *** kulla shurūri-l ‘aṣri
"And remove from everyone of us *** every evil wiles of the era"
وَافْتَحْ عَلَيْنَا رَبَّنَا *** مَا فِيهِ خَيْرُ العُمْرِ
Waftaḥ ‘alaynā Rabbanā *** mā fīhi khayru-l ‘umri
"And liberate upon us, our Lord *** whatever encapsulates the goodness of life"
وَاسْكُبْ عَلَيْنَا رَحْمَةً *** مِثْلَ انْسِكَابِ القَطَرِ
Was-kub ‘alaynā raḥmatan *** mithla insikābi-l qaṭari
"And drop upon us true Mercy *** like the droppings of dew-drops"
وَاجْرِي عَلَيْنَا فَيْضَةً *** جَرْياً كَجَرْيِ الجَعْفَرِ
Wajrī ‘alaynā fayḍatan *** jaryan ka-jaryi-l ja‘fari
"And make to flow out upon us *** flood-gates like the outpourings of grace"
وَامْنُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِالغِنَى *** وَبِعُلُومِ غُرَرِ
Wam-nun ‘alaynā bi-l ghinā *** wa bi-‘ulūmi ghurari
"Have mercy on us with wealth (bestowed) *** and with the choicest vials of knowledge"
بِجَاهِ خَتْمِ الأَوْلِيَا *** قَائِدِ أَهْلِ الذِّكْرِ
Bi-jāhi Khatmi-l Awliyā’ *** Qā’idi ahli-dh dhikri
"By virtue of the Seal of Sanctity *** the Pillar of the people of (GOD's) remembrance"
وَبِعَلِيِّ الحَرَازِمِي *** وَذَاكَ بِالفَخْرِ حَرِي
Wa bi-‘Aliyyi-l Ḥarāzimī *** wa dhāka bi-l fakhri ḥarī
"And by Ali al-Harazim *** that is a pride in gentility"
وَبِسَلِيلِ المُشْرِي *** جَامِعِ سِرِّ الأَبْهَرِ
Wa bi-salīli-l Mushrī *** Jāmi‘i sirri-l Abhari
"And by the offspring of al-Mishry *** compendium of the rarest of secrets"
بِجَاهِ قُطْبِنَا العَلِي *** وَبِتَمَاسِينِي دُرِي
Bi-jāhi Quṭbinā-l ‘Aliyyi *** wa bi-Tamāsīnī durī
"By virtue of our elevated Pole *** and by (Ali) Tamasini's round"
وَبِرِيَاحِي إِبْرَاهِيم *** سَلِيلِ عَبْدِ القَادِرِ
Wa bi-Riyāḥī Ibrāhīm *** salīli ‘Abdi-l Qādiri
"And by Ibrahim Riyahi *** the scion of Abdul-Qadir"
بِجَاهِ تَازِي دَمْرَاوِي *** مُحَمَّدِ الحِرْقِ السِّرِّ
Bi-jāhi Tāzī Damrāwī *** Muḥammadi-l Ḥirqi-s sirri
"By virtue of Tazi ad-Damrauwi *** Muhammad-l-Arabi, secretive"
وَبِالشِّنْجِيطِي العَلَمِ *** الحَافِظِ المُشْتَهَرِ
Wa bi-sh Shinjīṭī-l ‘alami *** al-Ḥāfiẓi-l mushtahari
"And by shaykh the handwriting of wisdom *** (Muhammad) al-Hafiz the famous one"
بِجَاهِ غَالِي القَدْرِ *** كَذَاكَ فُوتِي العُمَرِ
Bi-jāhi Ghālī-l qadri *** kadhāka Fūtī-l ‘Umari
"By virtue of (Muhammad) al-Ghali, powerful *** similarly that of Umar al-Futi"
بِجَاهِ فَالِ مَنْ غَدَى *** فِي النَّاسِ عَالِي القَدْرِ
Bi-jāhi Fāli man ghadā *** fī-n nāsi ‘ālī-l qadri
"By virtue of (Mawlud) Fal who arose *** amongst men exalted in post"
وَبِمُحَمَّدِ بَدِّنَا *** مُرْغِمِ أَنْفِ المُنْكِرِ
Wa bi-Muḥammad Baddinā *** murghimi anfi al-munkiri
"And by Muhammad Badd, our bard *** who rubs the snouts of critics in the dust"
بِجَاهِ عَرَبِي السَّائِحِ *** وَبِسَلِيلِ الأَحْمَرِ
Bi-jāhi ‘Arabī as-Sā’iḥi *** wa bi-salīli-l Aḥmari
"By virtue of Muhammad al-Arabī Saahi *** and by the offspring of Al-Ahmar"
عَبْدِ الوَهَّابِ الأََنْوَارِ *** خَلِيفِ سِرِّ الأَكْبَرِ
‘Abdi-l Wahhābi-l Anwāri *** Khalīfi sirri-l Akbari
"Abdul-Wahhaab the enlightened *** custodian of the greatest of secrets"
بِجَاهِ حَاجِ العَلَوِي *** وَالِدِ ذَاكَ المُشْرِي
Bi-jāhi Ḥājji al-‘Alawī *** wālidi dhāka al-Mushrī
"By virtue of Hajj al-Alawi *** father of that great dynasty"
بِجَاهِ قُطْبِ الحَاجِّ ذَا الـ *** عَبْدَلَاوِي صَقَرِ
Bi-jāhi Quṭbi al-Ḥājji dhā al- *** ‘Abdalāwī ṣaqari
"By virtue of the Qutb, al-Hajj *** that's Abda-Lawi, the falcon"
بِجَاهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ هُوَ *** وَالِدِ غَوْثِ العَصَرِ
Bi-jāhi ‘Abdillāhi huwa *** wālidi Ghawthi-l ‘aṣari
"By virtue of Abdullah, who was *** the father of the Succour of the times"
بِجَاهِ شَيْخِ أَحْمَدَا *** سَلِيلِ حَافِظِ سِرِّ
Bi-jāhi Shaykhi Aḥmadā *** Salīli Ḥāfiẓi sirri
"By virtue of Shaykh Ahmad *** son of al-Hafiz, a mover"
بِذَا العَيَّاشِ أَحْمَدَا *** وَبِسُكَيْرِجِ دُرِّ
Bi-dhā-l ‘Ayyāshi Aḥmadā *** wa bi-Sukayriji durri
"Likewise Ahmad al-Iyyashi *** and by Sukayrij, epitome"
بِجَاهِ قُطْبِ عَصْرِنَا *** بَرْهَامَ سَامِي القَدْرِ
Bi-jāhi Quṭbi ‘aṣrinā *** Barhāma sāmī-l qadri
"By the Qutb (The Pole) of our time *** Barham, the power-personified"
بِجَاهِ خَيْرِ الأََنْبِيَاءِ *** وَالمُرْسَلِينَ الغُرَرِ
Bi-jāhi khayri-l Anbiyā’i *** wa-l mursalīna-l ghurari
"By the Virtue of the best of all Prophets *** and of all the Messengers of yore"
وَآلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ *** مِنْ هَاشِمٍ وَالمُضَرِ
Wa Ālihī wa Ṣaḥbihī *** min Hāshimin wa-l Muḍari
"And his households and companions *** from Hashim and Madar"
وَارْحَمْ كَثِيرَ الزَّلَلِ *** عَبْدَ الرَّزَّاقِ النَّجَرِي
War-ḥam kathīra-z zalali *** ‘Abda-r Razzāqi-n Najarī
"And bless in manifolds of facets *** Abdul-Razaq, the Nigerien"
الكُوسَوِيَّ المَلَّمِي *** وَبِإِنْيَاسِي حَرِي
Al-Kūsawiyya-l Mallamī *** wa bi-Inyāsī ḥarī
"The native of Kusa, the Mallami (blameworthy) *** and by Inyass the freeborn"
وَهَذِهِ تَوَسُّلِي *** بِالأَوْلِيَاءِ الدُّرَرِ
Wa hādhihī tawassulī *** bi-l Awliyā’i-d durari
"For this is my intercession cry *** to the Privileged Assembly of the Saints"
وَكُلُّ مَنْ دَعَا بِهَا *** بِجَاهِ سِرِّ القَدْرِ
Wa kullu man da‘ā bihā *** bi-jāhi sirri-l qadri
"Whosoever pray with it *** by virtue of the secret Power"
يَنَالُ مَا يَطْلُبُهُ *** مِنْ رَبِّهِ بِالأَثَرِ
Yanālu mā yaṭlubuhū *** min Rabbihī bi-l athari
"Attains whatever he yearns after *** from his Lord with certainty"
جَرِّبْ أََيَا مَنْ يَبْتَغِي *** سِرَّ الغِنَى وَالأََجَرِ
Jarrib ayā man yabtaghī *** sirra-l ghinā wa-l ajari
"Imbibe it oh! you who seeks after *** the secret of wealth and great rewards"
صَلِّ وَسَلِّمِ الله *** عَلَى النَّبِيِّ الأََزْهَرِ
Ṣalli wa sallim Allāh *** ‘alā-n Nabiyyi-l az'hari
"Peace and blessings of GOD *** be upon the Prophet, the Efflorescent"
مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ *** وَصَحْبِهِ وَالزُّمَرِ
Muḥammadin wa ālihī *** wa ṣaḥbihī wa-z zumari
"Muhammad, and his kin *** and his kith, and his hordes"
Salatul Faatih (The Opening Salat)
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ الفَاتِحِ لِمَا أُغْلِقَ وَالخَاتِمِ لِمَا سَبَقَ نَاصِرِ الحَقِّ بِالحَقِّ وَالهَادِي إِلَى صِرَاطِكَ المُسْتَقِيمِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ وَمِقْدَارِهِ العَظِيمِ
Allāhumma ṣalli ‘alā sayyidinā Muḥammadin, al-fātiḥi limā ughliqa, wa-al-khātimi limā sabaqa, nāṣiri al-ḥaqqi bi-al-ḥaqqi, wa-al-hādī ilā ṣirāṭika al-mustaqīm, wa ‘alā ālihī, ḥaqqa qadrihī wa miqdārihi al-‘aẓīm!
Oh Allah, Bless our Master Muhammad, the Opener of what has been Closed, the Seal of what had gone before (Antiquity), Helper of the Truth by the Truth, the Guide to Your Straight path, and upon his households, as is the due of his immense position and grandeur!
