SEYDA KHADY FATY NIASSE

Second Daughter of Sheikh Al Islam El hadj Ibrahim Baye NIASSE RTA

Seyda Khady Faty NIASSE better known as YAYE was Born on August 18, 1930 in Kossi, she died on October 3, 1999 at the Sarr Clinic in Kaolack.

Seyda Khady Faty NIASSE is the second daughter of Sheikh Al Islam El hadj Ibrahim Baye NIASSE RTA, her mother's name is Sokhna Fatou DIAGNE. Her father Sheikh Al Islam gave her the name Khadijatou referring to the first wife of Prophet Seydina Muhamed PSL, first wife but also first woman to embrace the Muslim religion. Her father Cheikh Al Islam affectionately called her Khadidiatou Koubra Oumoul Fayda (Mother of the Fayda) because of her birth in the year of the Fayda's birth (Cf. Archives of BAYE NIASSE RTA).

She lost her mother very young which made her responsible very early in raising her siblings Serigne Mamoune Niasse, Seyda Oumou Kalsoum Niasse, and Serigne Mountakha Niasse. Besides, the education and success of her brothers and sisters worried her so much that she often went to beg prayers from her father BAYE NIASSE RTA for the latter.

It is said that one day her Father Baye NIASSE RTA told her that but Khady every time you ask for prayers it is for your brothers and sisters especially Serigne Mamoune Niasse and why not your son Lamine LY, she retorted to her father that Lamine LY if his Uncle succeeds, he will help her in turn. To say how much she loved her Family, her CHILDREN in the truest sense of the word.

1930, the year of her birth marks the birth of FAYDA TIDIANIA whose father Baye Niasse RTA is the owner and spiritual heir. Hence a symbolic year of the upheaval and great changes that the TARIKHA TIDIANE has experienced.

The FAYDA announced by Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Cherif RTA can be defined as the mass joining of the TARIKHA TIDIANE of disciples from all walks of life. Today, FAYDA has more than 100 million members worldwide.

Like all daughters of Sheikh Al Islam, she learned the Quran at a young age and mastered its rules and procedures. She loved Quran and read it regularly. By the way, every Friday she would make the Khadmou of her Kamil in order to pray.

She raised her children, grandchildren and children in custody. She instilled in them the Islamic values of respect, sharing and solidarity.

She helped them study, which means that today, several of them have succeeded and hold positions of responsibility both in Senegal, abroad and in international institutions.

Seyda Khady was a model woman, a Muslim - Tidiane. She had a strong character, she was strict, pious and righteous. She was a woman of words whose character forced respect for oneself.

She was very generous and open, she made no difference between her children and others. His house was a place of accommodation for his brothers and sisters, Nigerian Taliban, Guinean Bissau, Mauritanians, Malians, etc.

She helped them build themselves up in life, which earned her the title YAYE which means MOM. Today, in the NIASSE family, when we say YAYE all spirits turn to Seyda Khady Faty NIASSE.

Khadidiatou Koubra Oumoul Fayda played a big role with her family in general, many of her brothers gave her a namesake one of their daughters all this to show the fraternal relations that existed between her and her brothers.

Khadidiatou Koubra Oumoul Fayda liked to travel in the image of Sheikh Al Islam's family. She travelled to Nigeria, Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, Gambia and Mauritania to name a few.

Mauritania, a country she particularly liked, she went there often, and Mauritanian disciples came to stay in her house regularly. By the way, she even dressed like Mauritanian women which means a lot.

We will remember Khadidiatou Koubra Oumoul Fayda, a woman who marked her era by her values of Solidarity and Sharing, Educator, Courage, Respect, Diome, Ngor, Kerssa, Foula and Fayda.

She left an important, rich and strong legacy. Legacy being carried on today by his CHILDREN.

May Heaven be her Eternal Abode, Amen.
